Health and Safety A-Z
Topic: Guides
Summary:
What does it take be “duly diligent”, that is, to take “…every precaution reasonable in the circumstance for the protection of a worker…” as required by the H&S Act? What safety precautions are required, for example, when working at height? In a confined space? At a computer workstation?
H&S legislation is very detailed and technical. In most cases can provide some guidance, but for most people legislation is too lengthy or too complicated (or both!) to provide much in the way of practical advice.
Fortunately, a number of H&S agencies have developed H&S guidance documents addressing a range of issues. These guides are widely available, easy to read and most are free.
Included below are links to several of these agencies and a few of their guides.
