Health and Safety A-Z
Topic: Diving
Summary:
In Ontario, occupational diving is governed by On. Reg. 629/94, Diving Operations. The regulation applies to the work performed underwater as well as the work done on the surface in support of the divers. The regulation does not apply to recreational diving (including the training of recreational divers), snorkelling, or volunteer (i.e. unpaid) dives in emergency situations.
Any person at the University undertaking or arranging work involving diving must ensure the requirements of the Diving Operations regulation are met.
