Health and Safety A-Z
Topic: Cold Weather
Summary:
Anyone working outdoors, especially in extreme cold or for extended periods of time, should develop a cold weather plan. Suitable clothes should be worn, an alternate, dry set should be available, windbreaks or warming shelters may be required, and liquids should be consumed to avoid dehydration. People working in cold weather should know the signs and symptoms of frostnip, frost bite and hypothermia. A buddy system is recommended where there is a chance of frostbite or hypothermia.
