Academic Skills
Academic Skills and Academic Skills Durham offer online resources, workshops, and individual appointments to support efforts to improve and refine students' skills for success at university. Their team works closely with graduate students to help them develop as scholars and writers as well as teaching assistants.

Many workshops are offered virtually and are available to graduate students at both the Peterborough and Durham campuses.
Card Office
All current students, staff and faculty at Trent University are entitled to a TrentU Card. Your card serves as your official university ID. In addition to being your student and/or staff card, your TrentU Card is also your library card, your gym access for eligible members, your door access, and it is the easiest way to pay for everything you need, on and off-campus.
Once registered, students can obtain their TrentU card through the Card Office. Transit passes are not included in graduate students' fees, but are available to purchase for an additional fee. Graduate students can opt into the Transit Pass through their MyTrent Portal under the Services tab.
Campus Safety
Campus Security is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors that recognizes and is respectful of the diverse nature of the Trent Community. Visit the Campus Security website to learn more about their services.
Careerspace
Careerspace offers valuable learning tools with an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience to prepare students for life after Trent. They offer appointments, workshops, online resources, and opportunities to connect with employers and recruiters. These services are free for all Trent students and alumni.

Center for Teaching and Learning
Through the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), a host of professional learning opportunities are available to all members of the Trent teaching community, encompassing instructors, graduate students, departments, staff and administrators.
CTL supports Trent members through events including but not limited to workshops, panel discussions, lunch & learn series and individual consultations. They also offer teaching supports on a wide array of topics including curriculum development & learning outcomes, assessments practices, teaching portfolios, course design, pedagogy discussions, active learning strategies, educational technology applications, and educational leadership opportunities.
Health and Safety
The mission of Trent University's health and safety program is to provide a safe environment for all who use Trent's facilities. They offer a broad range of environmental, health, and safety initiatives and services that ensures both the well-being of everyone on campus, as well as compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

Health Services
Trent Student Health Services is a team of caring, dedicated, multi-disciplinary professionals with expertise in university health issues. As part of the Student Wellness Centre, they support a diverse student population through the provision of confidential primary health care, health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness education. Student Health Services is an appointment based medical clinic for all registered part-time and full-time students at Trent's Symons Campus.
The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is a mandatory health plan for all international non-residents studying or working at a participating university or affiliated college in Ontario. The UHIP fee for registered international students is automatically included in their start term registration fee each year with Trent University. UHIP provides coverage to eligible members and their dependents (spouse and children) on health services, such as visits to physicians, hospitals, diagnostic testing, medical emergency, and transportation on ambulance within the Province of Ontario.
The Extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan is provided by your student organization and provides insurance coverage of non-UHIP services such as dental care, prescription medication, and more.
Housing
Housing Services is a great resource at Trent to begin exploring accommodation options while pursuing your studies.
Peterborough Campus: Limited spaces are available in our Water Street Annex buildings for upper year and graduate students at the Peterborough campus. For details, please visit the Trent's Upper Year and Graduate Residence website. Many graduate students who will be studying at the Peterborough campus also have the option to live off-campus and commute. Off-campus Housing is available to help support students begin their rental searches, learn how to budget, identify rental scams, and understand tenant rights and responsibilities.
Durham Campus: Graduate students who will be pursuing studies at the Durham campus can explore Durham residences as a potential accommodation option, or may choose to live off-campus. Off-campus Housing is also available to assist students wishing to explore rental options in the Durham area.
Information Technology
Information Technology (IT) provides technological assistance to students at Trent. Students who bring their personal computers to campus can get assistance with Trent supported software, WiFi setups, advice on virus and spyware removal, and basic hardware diagnostics.
Remote desktop support is also available to assist in troubleshooting problems accessing Trent hosted web applications such as the myTrent portal, and related services such as Blackboard and the Academic Record. Students who require IT assistance can submit a ticket through through the Service Hub or visit the Information Technology Service Desk located in Bata Library
Financial Aid
The Financial Aid Office at Trent processes Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) applications for graduate students, as well as assists with the facilitation of the graduate bursary application. While OSAP is only available to Ontario students, both international and domestic students are welcome to apply for a bursary.
Bursaries are awarded each term to students with demonstrated financial need. The application is available at the beginning of each term and students are required to submit an application online by the advertised deadline to be considered. The application can be found on the MyTrent portal, under the Finances tab, beneath the Financial Aid heading.
First Peoples House of Learning
First Peoples House of Learning (FPHL) offers cultural services to a diverse community of Indigenous learners (First Nations, Status/Non-Status, Métis and Inuit). They collaborate with students to support their academic success, personal development and leadership potential.

Library
The Bata Library is located at the Peterborough campus, while students at the Durham campus can access the Durham Campus Library and Learning Center. The online Library catalogue provides access to most of the collection and includes printed volumes, e-books, e-journals, maps and more.
In addition to the online catalogue, both libraries offer study rooms, computer workstations and a collection of books and media on-site. Virtual (Zoom) and in-person research help is also available by appointment.
Office of Research and Innovation
The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) is responsible for achieving Trent's research goals and objectives. They support graduate students in answering questions pertaining to research applications and common research related questions or concerns, as well as manages the approval and monitoring process for the use of humans, animals, and biohazardous materials in research at the University.
Parking Services
Parking Services is responsible for the planning, management, maintenance, and provision of campus parking services. This includes issuing parking permits and enforcing parking regulations. Parking maps are available on the website.
There is no complimentary parking at the Symons and Traill campuses. Graduate students who wish to purchase a parking pass can do so on the parking website. Due to the demand of parking on campus, parking permits will be sold as a first come first purchase, and waitlists will be added if needed.
While there is no cost to park at the Durham campus, all Durham students, staff, faculty, and third party are required to register for a parking permit.
Print Shop
Campus Print provides a variety of services to both the Campus and the Peterborough area. Click here to access the Student Print Ordering Portal.
Registrar
The Office of the Registrar oversees records and financial aid at the university. Their services for graduate students include the processing of official transcripts.
All Trent University transcripts include a record of every term that you have attended and include both undergraduate and graduate studies, as applicable. Graduate students can order an official transcript through their MyTrent portal under the Transcript option, which will be shared with them via MyCreds when available.
Student Accessibility Services
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is a team of interdisciplinary professionals who provide support to students with disabilities through one-on-one advising, referrals to campus supports, and adaptive technology.

Student Affairs
Student Affairs is the co-ordination point for a range of departments that provide services to students on campus. These services include: personal counseling, residence and food services, a student health clinic, student accessibility services, and the Spiritual Affairs coordinator. Students from each college and association are invited to participate on committees that make recommendations to Student Affairs for operation of these service areas each year.
Student Affairs Durham provides personal appointments for counselling, accessibility services, academic advising, careers and academic skills for students at the Durham campus. They also offer workshops on a variety of topics for students, and provide general support in areas such as transition help, intramural and extramural sports, gym memberships, leadership programming and general student life activities.
Trent Graduate Students' Association
The Trent Graduate Students' Association (TGSA) is a non-profit, student-run organization that represents the 1200+ students enrolled in graduate programs at Trent University Symons and Durham campus. The TGSA represents, promotes and advocates for our members’ academic, political, social, and cultural interests.

Trent International
Trent International is the central support office for all international, English as a Second Language, and Exchange students at Trent. They provide pre-arrival and arrival advising and support, immigration advice, administer the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP), offer international student-specific workshops, advise on the post-graduate work program and host social and cultural events.
