Global Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Social Change
This specialization teaches you the skills and spirit to be socially conscious and create meaningful global change in any organizational structure. Take courses spanning business, international development, politics, and sociology to learn new ways of challenging global inequities. This specialization also gives you an opportunity to complete summer fieldwork abroad to get first-hand experience with innovation in different contexts.
Courses
Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a joint-major Honours degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Business Administration, or a single- or joint-major Honours degree in Global Development Studies may graduate with a Specialization in Global Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Social Change if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits with a minimum grade of 65% in each:
- 1.0 ADMN-GDST credit consisting of:
- ADMN-GDST 1030H: Globalization, Transnational Corporations, and International Development
- ADMN-GDST 2030H: Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Global South
- 3.0 credits from:
- ADMN-GDST 3030H: Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Field Course
- ADMN-POST-ECON 3123H: The Politics of Global Finance
- ADMN-ECON 3110H: International Trade
- ADMN-ECON 3120H: International Finance
- ADMN-ECON-GDST 3310H: The Economics of Developing Countries
- ADMN-ECON-GDST 3330H: The Economics of Global Interdependence
- ADMN 3420H: Entrepreneurship
- ADMN 3441H: Social Enterprise and Social Innovation
- GDST-POST 3220H: Global Political Economy
Students in the BBA program or a joint-major program in Business Administration and a subject other than Global Development Studies may include any of:
- GDST 1001H: Human Inequality in Global Perspective
- GDST 1002H: Issues in Global Human Inequality
- GDST 4100H: International Development Studies in an Economic Context
