The Trent/Fleming School of Nursing encourages qualified applicants to consider one of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.) program pathways below. By following the program links you will find more detailed information about admission requirements, including prerequisite courses that must be completed or in progress at the time of application.

The Collaborative program is available to applicants entering from high school or those who have completed some post-secondary education |
Compressed Program

Applicants from any discipline who are currently registered in or have completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree program. |

Open to recent graduates of Centennial, Durham, Fleming, and Seneca College’s Practical Nursing Diploma Program who have a minimum average of 75% and are registered in good standing with the CNO may apply to the Collaborative and/or Compressed programs and receive up to 5.0 transfer credits. |
Trent-George Brown R.P.N. Bridge to B.Sc.N.
|
Open to graduates from any community college two year Practical Nursing diploma program who completed the program with a minimum 75% overall average and are registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Diploma in Foundations of Indigenous Learning for Future Nursing Students |
A two-year program for Indigenous students who have the equivalent of Grade 12 or who qualify as mature students looking to bridge to into nursing. All courses from this diploma program receive university credit and students who complete the diploma and meet the minimum requirements are eligible for B.Sc.N. degree. Average: a minimum average of 75 calculated on the four prerequisite courses and their next best two 4U or 4M courses Prerequisite courses: biology (SBI4U), chemistry (SCH4U), any 4U math, and English (ENG4U) with minimum of 70 in each |
College Pre-Health Certificate |
Average: minimum GPA of 3.0 (75) on the full certificate Subject prerequisites: two semesters of biology, chemistry, and math (min. 65 in each semester), and two semesters of English/Communications (min. 70 in each semester) The following programs are accepted for consideration: any college Pre-Health Sciences Pathways to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees or a university stream pre-health certificate. |
College Diploma |
Average: a minimum GPA of 3.0 (75) in a diploma program from a community college Prerequisite courses: two semesters of biology, chemistry, and math (min. 65 in each semester), and English/Communications+ (min. 70 in each semester) + The English requirement can be waived for applicants with two or more years of full-time study at college |
Registered Practical Nurse |
Average: a minimum GPA of 3.0 (75) in a PN diploma program from a recognized community college. Registered in good standing with the CNO at the time of application. Applicants who enter the B.Sc.N. program within 6 months of completing their Practical Nursing Diploma will have this requirement waived. |

Average: a minimum GPA of 2.7 (70) calculated on a minimum of two semesters of full time study Prerequisite courses: a semester of biology, chemistry, and math, English (min. 60 in each) or meeting the college or Ontario high school subject requirements listed above Applicants may be eligible to receive transfer credits. |

Compressed Academic Requirements

Average: a minimum GPA of 3.0 (75) in the either Centennial, Durham, Fleming or Seneca College's PN diploma program. |

Average: a minimum GPA of 2.7 (70) calculated on the last 10.0 full credits (two years) of undergraduate study, Prerequisite courses: biology, chemistry, and math, English+ (min. 60 in each) or meeting the college or Ontario high school subject requirements listed above, and a full-course credit (1.0) in Introductory Psychology* + The English requirement can be waived for applicants with one or more years of full-time study at university where the language of instruction was English *The Introductory Psychology requirement may be waived for admission if the applicant has sufficient upper-year transfer credits |
Internal Trent transfer |
Average: a minimum GPA of 2.7 (70) calculated on a minimum GPA of 2.7 (70) calculated up to the last 10.0 full credits (two years) of undergraduate study. Prerequisite courses: biology, chemistry, and math, English (min. 60 in each) or meeting the college or Ontario high school subject requirements listed above. Other: Applicants in first year must have the following prerequisite Trent courses: BIOL 1050H, BIOL 1051H, PSYC 1020H, PSYC 1030H each with a minimum course average of 60%, and an additional 2.0 full Trent credits in any subject. - Deadline to submit OUAC application is January 15, 2025
February
- Deadline to submit an internal application for current Trent students is March 3, 2025
Mid-March
- Offers of Admission released
- Applicants may view and respond to offers online
May
- Students coming from another post-secondary institution should submit official transcripts with winter semester grades by May 31
June
- June 3, 2025 is the deadline for current Ontario secondary school application (Group A) to accept their offer.
July
- All secondary school applicants must submit official, final transcripts
August
- Applicants who received a conditional offer of admission for Fall 2025 must meet their conditions, including submission of official final transcripts from all institutions, by August 15, 2025. Applicants who are unable to meet any outstanding conditions by August 15, will be removed from the nursing program.

How to Apply
External applications to the Collaborative and Compressed nursing programs are made through the Ontario University Application Centre (ouac.on.ca)
Current Trent students can apply using the "Transfer to Nursing" online application found on the myTrent portal under the Academics tab.
