Take your knowledge further and explore new developments in the field with your classmates by joining the Forensic Science Society. This student-run organization coordinates extra-curricular activities for students in the program and others at Trent who have a keen interest in forensic science. Through field trips, guest speakers, and special events, the Society creates opportunities to advance your educational interests while fostering a sense of community in the forensics program. It’s a great way to connect outside the lab and make friends and colleagues for life.

Forensic Science Student Award of Excellence
Every year, the FSS and Forensic Science Department award a graduating student in good academic standing who has demonstrated involvement and contribution to the program during their time at Trent. The student receives a $600 award sponsored by the FSS and Forensic Science Department, notation on their transcript, and is featured on the display board outside the Forensic Science office in the DNA Building.
The winner of the 2023 Award of Excellence was: McKenna Campbell!
McKenna is graduating with an Honours in Forensic Science. She just completed a four-week international course at the Wildlife Forensic Academy. She will be doing environmental conservation monitoring and education for a provincial park this summer, and attending the University of Guelph for a Masters in Environmental Science program.
We would like to thank McKenna for her extensive contribution to our program throughout her years here, especially her many volunteer positions, including Co-President of our Forensic Science Society. We wish you all the best in the next part of your exciting journey!
