Don Mackay
Research and Teaching: The study of oil spills, especially in the Arctic; assessments of contamination in the Great Lakes; bioaccumulation in a variety of organisms from Invertebrates to fish, whales and humans; and the measurement and prediction of physicochemical properties of toxic substances. He introduced the concept of fugacity as a tool for environmental modelling and he founded, with Dr Eva Webster, the Canadian Environmental Modelling Centre (CEMC) at Trent University in 1995.
