Trent of the School of the Environment invites applications for CUPE 3908 Unit 2 Student Lab Demonstrators for the Fall 2024 term.
The hourly rate of pay is in accordance with the CUPE Unit 2 Collective Agreement.
Student Lab Demonstrator (SLD) shall be defined as an enrolled Trent University student who does not hold a full or half-time GTA position. SLDs shall not set up or take down laboratories or workshops, and will not be assigned principal responsibility for the preparation and presentation of courses. Duties related to the position, which shall be in accordance with Trent University and departmental practices, shall be determined by the person(s) who has (have) principal responsibility for the course. Those assigned duties may include but are not limited to the following: Employer-required training and orientation; assigning, marking, and evaluating lab or workshop work; submission of grades as required; monitor labs; prepare for and conduct discussion groups, laboratories, workshops, and/or problem-solving sessions.

Qualifications:
• A strong academic record
• Previous experience as a student and/or in a teaching role in the course that the applicant selects, or the overall academic discipline
