Dr. Iannacci has taught mainstream and special education in a range of elementary grades in Ontario. The focus of his pre-service and graduate teaching has been language, literacy, curriculum, inclusion, early childhood education and narrative research. He has taught several additional qualification courses for practicing teachers in reading and teaching English as a second language.
As an Associate Professor at the Trent School of Education and Professional Learning, he teaches and coordinates the Language and Literacy, Supporting Literacy and Learners with Special Needs and Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CLD) courses in addition to teaching the Intermediate/Senior Drama course. He has also taught a variety of graduate courses for the University of New Brunswick, Nipissing University, Western University and the University of Prince Edward Island.
In 2003 he was awarded the University Students’ Council Teaching Honour Roll Award of Excellence at the University of Western Ontario.
In 2008 he was nominated for the Trent School of Education Excellence in  Teaching Award.
In 2009 he was nominated for the Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching.
In 2015 he was nominated for the Trent School of Education Excellence in Teaching Award.
