College Advisory Council
The primary purpose of an Advisory Council is to help inform decision making by the Colleges. The Otonabee College Advisory Council meetings will provide a forum for input on short- and long-term planning for the College, influence a collaborative approach to College Life initiatives, and conversations as members of the community to define the Otonabee College experience. Our meetings will also advise on the distribution of College Awards and Prizes, updates to the physical spaces of our building and the allocation of funds within the College Life budget.
- Provide a forum for reviewing long-term goals and priorities within the College
- Examine opportunities for growth or improvement in programs and services
- Provide feedback on new initiatives and recently completed projects
- Ensure transparency with regards to College initiatives, including discussion of communications and consultations with students and partners
- Review and provide feedback on the College budget (approval rests with CASSC)
- Help to articulate the unique character of the College
The committee will meet twice each semester and will be composed of
- At least 3 members of Academic Departments (faculty and/or staff)
- At least 3 students
- At least 1 representative from each of the College Cabinet and Residence Council
- An alumni representative
- A representative of any service units within the College
- College Residence Life Coordinator and/or Senior Don
- College Principal (Chair of the Council Meetings)
