My primary research interest is examining exercise and bone health in various populations, including in those with chronic disease. Specifically, I focus on: 1) characterizing bone health and its association with exercise in those with chronic disease; 2) evaluating the effectiveness of exercise interventions on multiple outcomes (bone quantity, bone microarchitecture, fracture risk, muscle function, physical function, metabolic health, and quality of life) in adults/children with chronic disease; and 3) examining bone and muscle health throughout the lifespan, and developing preventative and lifestyle management exercise based interventions for aging adults with and without chronic disease.

Information for prospective students
I am currently establishing my lab at Trent, and am available to discuss undergraduate and graduate opportunities (at the masters level) with students who have an interest in kinesiology and health research. I would be interested in meeting with students who have a background in physiology, anatomy, or biology. Students will have the opportunity to work on existing research projects, as well as develop their own projects.
