The ARTF will be offering Open and Closed Listening Sessions to afford campus community members the opportunity to share their observations and experiences. Open sessions are envisioned to be sessions that are available to all members of the university community while closed sessions will be offered at the request of the different ethnocultural, association, or union groups on campus. All members of the Trent community will be given opportunities to participate in the consultation process with specific opportunities for members of underrepresented and disadvantaged groups to provide their input.
Further details on facilitated sessions will be provided through future email communication.
The ARTF strongly feels that it is important for consultations to be meaningful. This requires a procedure that promotes open discussion. For these, and other, reasons, the listening sessions of the university with the community will be facilitated by a party other than Trent’s staff, faculty, or students (a third-party) with the appropriate identity and preparation to engage with the community in a meaningful way while maintaining the confidence and anonymity of community members.
