Search and Browse the Archives Database
The Archives holds more than 1,000 fonds and collections that document the region and Trent University. These are described in the Archives Database, which allows for general keyword searching and advanced searching. Remember that you are searching descriptions of archival records, and not the records themselves. So, if you search someone's name and get zero results, it does not mean that person is not in the Archives. When in doubt, don't hesitate to contact the Archives for assistance locating materials.
Browse all fonds and collections
Browse by Subject
Fonds/collections are assigned broad subject headings, which can be helpful for exploration. You will also find more granular subject, place, and access points in the database. These continue to be added to support browsing and exploration of our holdings, but are neither consistent nor comprehensive. Keyword searching may also be effective for locating resources on a topic.
Browse by Place
Fonds/collections can also be explored, broadly, by the county to which they relate. Other place names (townships, municipalities) have been added as access points in our database, but these are tools for exploration and not always consistently applied.
