Trent Joins the ‘Conversation for a Better Future’ in support of the Council of Ontario Universities
Brighter Future campaign aims to bring together Ontarians and universities in dialogue
Trent University has joined a conversation that will help shape our future. Aligning with the Council of Ontario Universities (COU), an organization which gives a voice to the 21 Ontario universities, Trent is participating in a province-wide campaign, led by the COU, to engage Ontarians in a conversation about how we can work to unlock the full potential of our province’s future.
“With recent concerns raised in the media and various discussions about the future of Ontario’s job market, economic upheaval, and the talent pool in the province, Ontario’s universities want to know how best to support our students, communities and the province,” explained Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent University. “Here at Trent, we continue to actively be part of the ‘conversation for a better future’, to engage our own communities about how universities can be part of the solution.”
The COU’s Brighter Future campaign launched this past fall, with a call for ideas and aspirations from parents, students, business and not-for-profits, health and social service agencies, arts and culture organizations, researchers, academics, community leaders, governments and more – with an aim to understand the rising public concerns and collectively find solutions that work for our province.
