The Friends of the Bata Library Host Prof. Julia Harrison, who will discuss "Making Travel Meaningful"

The Friends of the Bata Library will host a talk by Prof. Julia Harrison, chair, Trent University's Women's Studies department, on Thursday, February 19 at 8 p.m. in the Smith Conference Room, Bata Library.

Prof. Harrison will discuss "Making Travel Meaningful," highlighting findings from her recent book Being a Tourist: Finding Meaning in Pleasure Travel. In this study of the motivations of a large group of middle-class travelers, Prof. Harrison looks at the many reasons people undertake journeys for pleasure.

Everyone is welcome. Admission is free of charge.
