Substances of abuse, mental function and neurotransmitters will be the topics at hand when renowned psychiatrist and addiction specialist Dr. Blenos Pederson speaks at Trent University's Wenjack Theatre on Thursday, November 15th at 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Pederson (MD, FRCPC, DHOM, DCMT, ASAM cert.) is an honorary staff member of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, University of Toronto and the author of several current text chapters on substance abuse and concurrent mental disorders. During his career he has been the Head of Psychiatry at the Addiction Research Foundation, the Vice President of the Toronto General Hospital, and the Senior Psychiatrist at Whitby Mental Health Center.

Arranged by the instructor of Chemistry/Psychology 495a, Neurochemistry, the special lecture will be an engaging discussion of substance abuse, mental function and neurotransmitters. All are welcome to this free lecture.
