Friends of the Bata Library Host "After Elizabeth: Browning and the Texture of Time"

Wednesday, March 24, 2004, Peterborough

 

The Friends of the Bata Library are hosting a talk by Prof. Suzanne Bailey titled "After Elizabeth: Browning and the Texture of Time" on Thursday March 25, 2004 at 8 p.m. in the Smith Conference Room, Bata Library.

All are welcome. Admission is free of charge.
 
Prof. Bailey will talk about the life and career of poet Robert Browning. She will focus on his courtship letters to Elizabeth Barrett and on the work of his later career as reflected in his correspondence. She will also explore Browning's response to the ageing process and to the loss of his poet-partner, considering some of the rituals of memory he performed in his life and poetic work.
