The Friends of the Bata Library presents "Trent, Books and Us"

Professor Emeritus Bob Chambers to speak December 4

The Friends of the Bata Library will host Professor Emeritus Bob Chambers, who will speak on the topic "Trent, Books and Us" on Thursday December 4, 2003 at 8 p.m. in the Smith Conference Room, Bata Library, Trent University.

The event is open to the public and admission is free of charge. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Prof. Chambers is a founding member of the Friends of the Bata Library (FBL) and a long-standing Professor of English at Trent. Though he has been retired for a few years, he maintains a keen interest in the University, the Bata Library, and the world of books.

Prof. Chambers has recently written a monograph on his experiences as a teacher of English Literature and he will adapt his remarks to address the occasion of the FBL's 25th anniversary and to share his thoughts on teaching and the world of books.

On this special occasion, Prof. Chambers has kindly offered to make copies of his most recent book, entitled My Six Little Fugitives available to FBL members at $5 per copy. The entire proceeds of the sale of these copies will go to the FBL Trust Fund.
