PRESIDENT PATTERSON ACCEPTS INVITATION TO SERVE A SECOND TERM AS PRESIDENT AND VICE-CHANCELLOR

Mr. Reid Morden, Chair of the Board of Governors of Trent University, is pleased to announce that Professor Bonnie Patterson has accepted an invitation from the Board to serve a second term as President and Vice-Chancellor of Trent University until 2009.

"I want to extend the Board’s appreciation to President Patterson for her exceptional leadership and accomplishments on Trent University’s behalf to date and for her enthusiastic willingness to continue her service to Trent for a second term," said Morden.

President Patterson’s reappointment follows a thorough review of the presidency conducted by an advisory committee of Senators and Governors who are students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the public.

In addition to recommending that President Patterson be reappointed, the committee proposed a new presidential mandate that has also been accepted by the Board of Governors.

The Report of the Advisory Committee to Review the Presidency 2003 is on Trent’s website at: http://www.trentu.ca/secretariat/presreview.html

"On behalf of the Board, I extend our thanks to the members of the advisory committee for the thorough and thoughtful way in which they carried out their work," said Reid Morden.

The members of the Committee were: Lynn McDonald (Chair), Jim Conley, Glen Easson, David Glassco, Mike Izzo, Mike Matheson, Kate Ramsay, Ted Tremain, and Doug Young.
