Lord of the Rings star to give talk at Trent University tonight

Tuesday, March 18, 2003, Peterborough

Lord of the Rings fans will be flocking to Trent University’s Great Hall at Champlain College Tuesday, March 18th at 7:30 p.m. to see one of their favourite hobbits in person.

Champlain College Master Stephen Brown is very pleased to host a talk by Billy Boyd, the stage and screen star best known for his role as Pippin in The Lord of the Rings movies.

Mr. Boyd, who is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Drama and Music, has a distinguished theatre career in Scotland in both classical and contemporary productions. He was in the touring company of Trainspotting. Billy Boyd will speak about the challenges of going from stage to film acting.

The talk, which will be illustrated with clips from Boyd's work, will be held in the Great Hall at Champlain College this evening at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but seating will be limited.
