Switching Political Science Databases

Switching Political Science Databases

Posted July 7, 2011

The Library regularly evaluates our online resources in terms of their suitability for Trent's teaching and research needs. We recently switched from PAIS and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts to EBSCO's Political Science Complete and Public Affairs Index.

Political Science Complete contains full text for more than 520 journals, and indexing and abstracts for over 2,900 titles. Researchers also have access to more than 340 full text reference books and monographs, as well as over 36,000 full text conference papers.

Public Affairs Index covers aspects of contemporary public policy issues. These include banking and finance, criminal justice, education, energy, humanitarian issues, politics and elections, etc.

Because these political science products are on the EBSCO search platform, researchers will be able to cross search these databases with Academic Search Elite and other EBSCO databases to which the Library already subscribes.
