We Just Added 380 New E-Books to TOPCAT

Posted on September 17, 2014

This week we added 380 new e-books to TOPCAT.  These titles are recent (mostly 2014) publications from Oxford University Press, purchased as part of a large consortial deal from University Press Scholarship Online.  They cover a wide variety of academic topics.  They can be discovered through TOPCAT, or directly from the website.

E-books are found in TOPCAT alongside print books when you perform a search.  The difference is that print books have call numbers to tell you where they are on the shelf, and e-books have a link to the book online.  You can limit an Advanced Search to e-books only, specifying "Type: e-book".

We now have over 700 e-books from the University Press Scholarship Online published in 2014 and over 900 published in 2013.  Titles published since 2000 total more than 10,000.

We're currently working on a deal for Canadian University Press titles.
