ESRI: ArcGIS Desktop Education Edition (Student) Software

ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Education Edition (for use off-campus)

ArcGIS is a full-featured GIS software for visualizing, managing, creating, and analyzing geographic data. Using ArcGIS, you can understand the geographic context of your data, allowing you to see relationships and identify patterns in new ways.

Esri offers two different  Desktop software: ArcGIS Desktop ArcMap Education Edition and ArcGIS Desktop Pro. Both software can run simultaneously on one Windows machine and registered members of Trent can request both software to complete Trent research and course work.  Commercial use, redistribution, transfer, resale, donation, or exchange of software are expressly prohibited.

Unsure whether to use ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS ArcMap: Please ask your course instructor which software will be taught in class. Both ArcGIS ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro are excellent software. ArcGIS Pro will eventually replace ArcGIS ArcMap.

ArcGIS Pro is authorized by Named User. To receive a Trent Esri Organizational Account for ArcGIS Pro, please complete the following request form.

ArcGIS ArcMap Education Edition is authorized through a unique "EVA" registration code. The license is valid for one year (365 days), which starts upon registration of the Education Edition software. The license will authorize one copy of ArcGIS ArcMap software and can only be installed on one computer.  See below for further information and instructions for obtaining an authorization code for ArcGIS for Desktop ArcMap.
