The Maps, Data & Government Information Centre (MaDGIC) is located on the 4th Floor of Thomas. J. Bata Library, Trent University. The Centre includes a Data Visualization Lab (Room 402), Consultation Office (Room 415), aerial photography, atlas, map and government publication collections and study space.

Access To MaDGIC Collections

MaDGIC collections include digital and hard copy resources.

Government publication and map stacks are located on the 4th floor of the library and are accessible during main building hours of operation, with the exception of a small percentage of special collections located in MaDGIC's Consultation Office (Room 415). Please check the library catalogue for call numbers and the location of MaDGIC collections, or contact us for information.

Winter TERM Hours Of Service 

MaDGIC staff are available to assist researchers at the times listed below.  Contact us to make an appointment.

Monday: 9:00 to 17:00

Tuesday: 9:00 to 17:00

Wednesday: 9:00 to 17:00; 18:00 to 20:45*

* Wednesday evening hours are for the Data Visualization Lab only. Arrangements may also be made to view MaDGIC special collections, by contacting us in advance.

Thursday: 9:00 to 17:00

Friday: 9:00 to 16:30

VIrtual Assistance witH Research & Assignments

We look forward to assisting students and researchers! MaDGIC maintains an active Request Tracker (RT) which is used to submit and respond to research questions and requests for appointments.

WORKSHOPS and TOURS

MaDIC offers a range of workshops and tours. Requests for workshops  must be made a minimum of 3 weeks in advance of the desired date.
