Title

Biography / History

Jean Murray Cole was born in 1927. She and her husband, A.O.C. Cole, shared the editorialship of a number of books including The Illustrated Historical Atlas of Peterborough (1975) and Kawartha Heritage (1981). Jean Murray Cole is a former journalist and has published a number of historical texts concerning Peterborough and area. Her major publications include Exile in Wilderness (1979), The Loon Calls: A History of the Township of Chandos (1989), and South Monaghan: The Garden of Eden (1998). Jean is an active member of the Friends of the Bata Library and has been a long-standing member of the Peterborough Historical Society.

Scope and Content

This fonds consists of research material for the book South Monaghan: The Garden of Eden by Jean Murray Cole, 1998. Included are transcripts of interviews, photographs, correspondence, receipts, and publicity materials, etc.
