Biography / History

Walter Kenyon was a noted Ontario archaeologist,and curator of Canadian archaeology at the Royal Ontario Museumfor twenty-five years.

Custodial History

This fonds was in the custody of Mrs. W.A.Kenyon before it was donated in 1988 along with Dr. Kenyon's libraryto Trent University.

Scope and Content

This fonds consists of two binders enclosingthe typescript of a narrative called "Rivers of Ice, theVoyage of Captain George Tyson." When the safety of the shipis threatened by being crushed in the ice, a contingent take refugeon a large ice floe. The narrative follows their vicissitudesand ultimate rescue.
