Society of Camp Directors fonds.Additions. -- 1957-1984. -- 13 cm of textual records.

Biography / History

The Society of Camp Directors was foundedMay 21, 1969, after a long gestation period, from about 1957,when the subject was first broached in the Ontario Camping Association.Members of the OCA who were camp directors were instrumental inthe formation of the new society. The Society is a group of professionalcamp directors who meet periodically to discuss camp philosophyand methods of administration.

Custodial History

The fonds was created by and in the custodyof the Society of Camp Directors until it was donated to the TrentUniversity Archives.

Scope and Content

This addition to the fonds consists of theSociety of Camp Directors' Papers #1 to 44 (missing # 14b, 16,27, 30, 34, 37, 42, 43), correspondence and some minutes of meetings.
