Fonds 13-008 - Collins and Gammon family fonds

Some of the items are extremely fragile, including the scrapbook of ferns and mosses. Handle with care.

Photocopies of many of the original letters received in this fonds were received in 1994; the photocopies were processed as 94-007 and are interfiled in binders of Stewart family material processed as 94-006.

Loose on shelf: a scrapbook of ferns and mosses with inside inscription "Helen S. Wallis from J.C.S., Carbeth Guthrie [Scotland], September 1859"; also, pages of loose insertions with inscription "Walter [Maurice] Roger with Mrs. [Cornells] [love], 13th Jan'y/63": approximately 60 varieties of ferns and mosses are represented; they are glued to the pages and many are identified with botanical names; locations for some species are identified as "Wadebridge" [Cornwall, England], "west of England", "Isle of Man", "North Wales", plus various United Kingdom castle locations (Note: this item is extremely fragile).
