Biography / History

Professor Roger Jones is Professor Emeritus of Trent University. He was a faculty member of the Biology Department for 32 years and retired in 2000. Professor Jones was a member of Trent's Nature Areas Committee.

Custodial History

This collection was created by and in the custody of Professor Roger Jones before it was donated to Trent University Archives on December 14, 2000.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of 103 slides of various nature areas on the Symons Campus, Trent University, taken October 1996 as a record of the vegetation in 1996 for future comparison of vegetation change. The slides are accompanied by an index.

This photographic collection was donated by Professor Roger Jones.

Restrictions: Written permission of the Chair, Nature Areas Committee, required if accessing to take out for display purposes.

Finding aids: Y

In 2003, 94 additional colour slides showing the vegetation and other features of the Nature Areas in the fall of 1996 on the Symons Campus were added to the collection. An index to the slides is included.

In 2015, three offprints of articles written by Professor Jones were added to this fonds. These offprints were donated by Betty McKeown, Trent University Department of Geography secretary from 1964 to 1986.
