Convocation is the formal ceremony for the conferral of degrees, diplomas and certificates, and a time-honoured tradition that celebrates every student’s academic accomplishments. It is a commemoration of your life at Trent and an opportunity to share this significant milestone with your family and friends.
Follow our socials, Facebook and Instagram and share your comments and photos during the ceremonies to celebrate our new #TrentAlumni.
Convocation ceremonies are held outdoors in Peterborough. Indoor viewing locations on campus are also available to guests. University officials continue to monitor weather and air quality to make informed decisions about ceremonies. Any changes to ceremony location will be posted on this page one hour in advance of ceremonies. Check back for updates and be sure to refresh your browser.
Please note that convocation ceremonies will be video recorded and photographed. Convocation ceremonies are public events that are recorded in various ways including webcast, video and photography. These images and recordings may be used for official purposes, such as promoting Trent University. If you have any questions, please contact convocation@trentu.ca.

Convocation 2024 Ceremony Schedule
All ceremonies in Peterborough and Durham are grouped by degrees and specific programs. Please review the detailed schedule to learn when your program/degree will convocate.
Peterborough ceremonies are scheduled to be held outdoors. Encourage your guests to dress for the weather and be prepared for the sun. There is no guest limit for outdoor ceremonies.
In case of rain, heat, or poor air quality, ceremonies will be moved indoors to the Athletic Centre. The decision will be made 1 hour before the ceremony. There is a maximum of 3 guests per graduate for indoor ceremonies - graduates reserved these tickets when they submitted their RSVP form (May 26 deadline). Guests must present their electronic or printed tickets to enter the gym. Additional guests are welcome to watch the live-stream from the comfort of several viewing rooms on campus.
For indoor and outdoor ceremonies, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The capacity limits for indoor ceremonies are determined by the Fire Code Prevention Act of Ontario.
Convocation at Trent University Durham will be held at the Tribute Communities Centre.
