"The future for Trent is bright, and I invite you to engage with us as we will build on our legacy of success, continuing to make meaningful contributions to our society and the world."
Thank you for visiting!
I am honoured to serve as Trent University’s president and vice-chancellor.
Over my more than 20 years at Trent, I have witnessed the transformative power of a Trent education. On both our campuses, we celebrate diversity, foster curiosity, and provide opportunities for personal, academic and career growth through experiential learning and solutions-focused social engagement.
The Trent of today is in a very good place, true to our origins as a student-centred institution underpinned by expert faculty, dedicated staff, loyal alumni and a profound connection to our wider communities.
The Trent of tomorrow will remain rooted in our core values, fueled by the exceptional opportunities on the horizon, including residences and the new Gidigaa Migizi College, a Seniors Village, the Trent Research Farm and our expanding Durham Campus. These initiatives are testament to our commitment to students, sustainable growth and our communities.
As the University’s global influence grows, I am particularly excited about our ongoing commitment to expanding our experiential learning opportunities and fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can feel at home. Together, we will continue to advance cutting-edge research, enhance student engagement, and uphold our leadership in Indigenous education and environmental sustainability.
The future for Trent is bright, and I invite you to engage with us as we will build on our legacy of success, continuing to make meaningful contributions to our society and the world.
Warm regards,
Cathy Bruce, Ph.D.
