Get moving and be a part of Trent Durham’s active student body. As a student at Trent Durham, you will have automatic membership to all City of Oshawa recreation facilities, including the Civic Recreational Complex, right next door. Fitness classes and equipment, indoor soccer stadium, pool, aerobics studio, indoor track, and tennis, squash and badminton – everything is right here, just steps from campus.
Like being part of a team? Join our intramurals and meet new friends playing volleyball, cricket, field soccer, flag football, basketball, and more. Students looking for a more competitive option will want to check out our extramural soccer and volleyball teams.
You are also invited and encouraged to try out for the Trent Excalibur varsity teams at our Peterborough campus. Did you know we have 12 varsity teams donning the green and white to compete with the Trent Excalibur at the highest level of competition in university sport? Rowing, rugby, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, curling – take your pick. Outdoor recreation more your style?
At Trent, you’re in luck. Nature areas and vast networks of trails can be found at the doorstep of our campus. While you’re out there exploring, don’t forget to check out the beautiful waterfront trail and park just south of campus. Bike, stroll, play, run, hike. The options to get moving are endless at Trent Durham.

Campus Recreation
There’s no limit to the creative opportunities that students can help us plan during their time at Trent, but some examples of these activities may include sports activities, e-sports programs, yoga sessions, recreation competitions, walking groups, or team fitness challenges. We look forward to helping everyone find their fit at TrentU Durham GTA.
Intramural Sports (Fall)
Trent University Durham GTA is running Intramural Sports this Fall between September 15th and December 20th.
- Volleyball: Monday's from 6pm to 7pm at Waverly Public School
- Basketball: Monday's from 7pm to 8pm at Waverly Public School
- Soccer: Tuesday's from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Civic Fieldhouse
- Cricket: Thursday's from 1:30pm to 3pm at the Civic Fieldhouse
We are also running Specialized Sports every week on Wednesday's from 4:30 pm to 6pm.
- Dodgeball: September 18th in the residence field.
- Ball Hockey: September 25th between buildings A and B.
- Pickleball: October 2nd in Room A121.
- Badminton: October 9th in Room A121.

Gym Memberships
Fall/Winter Information
All students at Trent University Durham GTA will receive a Level 2 Fitness membership with the City of Oshawa in the Fall/Winter semesters. To utilize the membership, visit the Civic Centre in person with a current student ID card to set up an account.

Extramural Competitive Sports
TrentU Durham GTA runs competitive tournament and league teams as part of the OCAA OCR league against other GTA colleges and universities in Ontario.
This coming year for 2024-25, we are running a Mixed Indoor Soccer team, Mixed Indoor Volleyball team, and Mixed Cricket team.
