Free Tuition Win Gives Incoming Student an Exciting Start to First Year
Social Work student Taylor Parkin wins free tuition draw after attending campus tour
Taylor Parkin, incoming first-year student in the Social Work program (Peter Gzowski College), was overjoyed upon learning that she was the winner of Trent’s free tuition draw.
“Finding out that I won the free first year tuition prize was absolutely lifesaving,” says Taylor. “I instantly had tears of joy and had to call my mom.”
Multiple chances to win
On both Peterborough and Durham campuses, Trent offers multiple chances for future students to enter to win free tuition for their first year. Students are automatically entered to win by attending Trent’s virtual or in person events including open houses, campus tours, and virtual presentations.
Taylor was automatically entered in the contest after taking a tour of the Peterborough campus, where she first fell in love with Trent.
“The campus was one of the biggest deciding factors that I wanted to continue my education here,” says Taylor. “The whole campus and culture of the University seems like such a friendly and safe school environment.”
Ready to embark on her university journey
From Stirling, Ontario, Taylor plans to put her Social Work degree to use as a therapist. Now, with her free tuition win, she’s more than ready to take on life at Trent University.
“Receiving free tuition is a huge weight lifted off my chest,” says Taylor. “It’s beyond words how much this money will be able to help me.”
