Admission Requirements

Requirements:
- Minimum 70% average in best six 4U/M courses*.
- Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis for meeting English Language Proficiency requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions.

Application and Documents Requirements:
- Use OUAC 101 application.
- Your school will submit your grades to Trent University.
- Upload your English language proficiency test results via MyTrent if you wish to provide further evidence of your English language proficiency.

Requirements:
- Minimum 70% average*.

- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, a final high school transcript including a confirmation of graduation must be received as soon as it becomes available.

Requirements:
IB Diploma:
- Minimum overall score of 26 (including bonus points) in IB diploma*.
- English Language A with a minimum grade of 4 satisfies English requirement. English B with a strong grade may also be accepted. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions if you do not have the required course/grade as per above.
- See the admission chart for program specific requirements. Prerequisite courses can be presented at Standard and/or Higher Level.
For programs with required “Mathematics”, we will accept the following:
Analysis and approaches (Math AA) – HL
Analysis and approaches (Math AA) – SL
Applications and interpretation (Math AI) – HL
- Applications and interpretation (Math AI) – SL: will be accepted where “Mathematics” is recommended only.
For admission to Biomedical Science the following IB courses are required: Biology, Chemistry and one of Mathematics (see above) or Physics
IB Certificates
IB certificate courses (both Standard and Higher Level) can be used for admission only in conjunction with another high school curriculum.
IB Career Related Program
Applications are accepted on a case by case basis.
Application and Documents Requirements:
- Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application
- High school in-progress transcript, including predicted IB grades. If you completed an IB diploma, request IBO to release your final IB Diploma results to Trent University.
- Submit your in-progress transcript via MyTrent. Alternatively, your school can email your transcript to admissions@trentu.ca or release it via Parchment.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, final IB diploma must be received directly from IBO (ensure to request release of your diploma/certificate grades to Trent).
Advanced Standing (transfer credits):
HL courses completed with a grade of 5 and higher qualify for transfer credits.
Transfer credits will be posted to your Trent academic record upon receipt of your final IB diploma or IB Certificate. Transfer credits may allow you to enroll in upper year Trent courses and complete degree requirements sooner.

Requirements:
- Minimum ‘C’ grade in five O-level (IGCSE) subjects and at least two A-level (A2) subjects*.
- Two AS subjects may be substituted for one A2 subject.
- A grade of C in O-level English satisfies English requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions if you do not have the required course/grade as per above.
- See the admission chart for program specific requirements. Prerequisite courses can be presented at A2 or AS Level.
Application and Documents Requirements:
- Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application
- Ordinary and Advanced Subsidiary (if available) certificates PLUS in-progress Advanced level transcript including predicted final Advanced (or Advanced Subsidiary) grades. If you completed your studies, Advanced (or Advanced Subsidiary) Provisional Statement OR final certificate results.
- Submit your documents via MyTrent, Alternatively, your school may can email your transcript to admissions@trentu.ca or release it via Parchment.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, Provisional Statement of Results must be submitted as soon as it becomes available. We can verify Cambridge International results on-line and for verification of Pearson (Edexcel) results, please review how you can release your official results here.
Advanced Standing (transfer credits):
Advanced Level courses completed with a grade of C or higher qualify for transfer credits.
Transfer credits will be posted to your Trent academic record upon receipt of your final A2 level results. Transfer credits may allow you to enroll in upper year Trent courses and complete degree requirements sooner.
Math exemption for BBA: a minimum grade of “C” in two out of the three of the following A level subjects:
- Accounting
- Business
- Economics

BTEC Diploma
Trent University will consider the BTEC Higher National Diploma for admission on an individual basis. Admissions will examine whether the courses taken have sufficient academic content related to the program of choice at Trent
Requirements:
- Minimum ‘B’ average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) in a recognized academic grade 12 program with at least four different senior level academic subjects*.
- A minimum grade of 70% in English 12 satisfies English requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions if you do not have the required course/grade as per above.

Application and Documents Requirements:
- Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application.
- High School in-progress or, if completed, final transcript. Normally, an in-progress transcript must include Grade 12, 1st quarter/term results.
- Submit your transcript and, if applicable, English proficiency test results via MyTrent. Alternatively, your school can email your transcript to our admission office at admissions@trentu.ca or release it via Parchment.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, a final high school transcript including a confirmation of graduation must be provided as soon as it becomes available.
Advanced Standing (transfer credits):
Advanced Placement (AP) courses with an exam grade of 4 or higher qualify for transfer credits.
Transfer credits will be posted to your Trent academic record upon receipt of your official AP exam results. Transfer credits may allow you to enroll in upper year Trent courses and complete degree requirements sooner.

Requirements:
- Standard X Certificate results PLUS a minimum 70% average in Standard XII in best 4 academic courses, including English*.
- English proficiency test results will be likely required. Students in the CBSE curriculum are exempted from providing English Language Proficiency test. See the English Language proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions.

For Bachelor of Business Administration: Commerce stream students in India Senior High School are exempt from having Mathematics as a required course for admission.
For Bachelor of Science in Nursing program: the following courses must be present: English, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
For Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science: the following courses must be present: English, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and one of Physics OR Earth and Space Science.
Application and Documents Requirements:
- Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application.
- Standard X Certificate PLUS high school in-progress transcript, including Gr. 11 and predicted final Grade 12 grades. If you completed your studies, Grade 12 Certificate results, including Admit card details.
- Submit your documents and English Proficiency test results (if applicable) via MyTrent.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, Senior Secondary Education Certificate results must be provided as soon as they become available, including Admit Card details. Submit these documents via MyTrent.

Requirements:
- Minimum 75% average in Senior 3 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation)*.
- English language proficiency test results are normally required for direct admission to undergraduate studies. If you do not meet published English language proficiency requirements but you have the required academic average you will be admitted through Trent-ESL: English for University.

- A minimum grade of C6 in English Language.

- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, WASSCE Certificate and Scratch Card must be provided as soon as they become available.

- Minimum III average in 6 CAPE units*.

- CSEC Certificate results PLUS high school in-progress transcript, including CAPE Year 1 and predicted Year 2 final results.
- If you completed your studies, CSEC and CAPE Certificates.

- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, official CAPE Certificate results must be provided as soon as they become available.
Advanced Standing (transfer credits):
2 unit CAPE courses completed with a grade of III and higher qualify for transfer credits.
Transfer credits will be posted to your Trent academic record upon receipt of your official CAPE Certificate results. Transfer credits may allow you to enroll in upper year Trent courses and complete degree requirements sooner.

Requirements for College Diploma students:
- For admission: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale) from an accredited foreign college diploma level program*.
- Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis for meeting English Language Proficiency requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions.
- For transfer credit: a minimum grade of B- (GPA of 2.67) in an individual course is required for transfer credit assessment
Requirements for University Degree students:
- For admission: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale) from an accredited foreign university degree level program*.
- Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis for meeting English Language Proficiency requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions.
- For transfer credit: a minimum grade of C (GPA of 1.67) in an individual course is required for transfer credit assessment
Application and Documents Requirements:
- Final High School transcript and graduation diploma if completed in the last 5 years.
- Post-secondary in-progress transcript with grades for the most recently completed term.
- If you completed your studies, official final post-secondary transcript.
- Submit your documents via MyTrent. Alternatively, your institution can email your transcript to admissions@trentu.ca or release it electronically.
- Submit your English language proficiency test results via MyTrent if you wish to provide evidence of your English language proficiency.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, a final official post-secondary transcript must be provided as soon as it becomes available. This document will be required for transfer credit assessment.

Transfer Credit Assessment Process:
A maximum of 10.0 transfer credits (equivalent of 2 years of full-time studies) can be granted. We will determine whether you may be eligible to receive transfer credits when we assess your application and post-secondary transcript at the admission stage. If we determine that you are eligible for admission on advanced standing (in other words, receive transfer credits) you will receive an admission offer to Year 2 of 4 Year program. In reality, you may receive more transfer credits and the actual number of transfer credits will be determined once the transfer credit process takes place.
Transfer Credit Assessment Process will begin once the following conditions have been met:
- You have been admitted to Trent University and accepted your offer of admission
- You have submitted a tuition deposit of $500 CAD with your acceptance of admission offer
- You have submitted your final OFFICIAL Post-Secondary institution transcript
- You have the required minimum grade in an individual course for which you are seeking a transfer credit
- You have official course syllabus for all courses you are seeking transfer credits
