New Summer Opportunities: Circumpolar Studies
Northern Scotland
This summer Trent will be offering a field placement in Northern Scotland from June 19th-28th!
The summer school will be divided into two parts, one in the Highlands of northern Scotland and the second in Paisley, just outside Glasgow. The trip will explore both Scotland’s past and present and explores the ways in which Scotland’s northern experience finds echoes in Canadian life. Students can opt to apply for a reading course in Geography/Canadian Studies to pair with this trip in order to receive course credit.

Anchorage, Alaska
This summer Trent will be offering a field placement in Alaska during the last week of July!
The summer field placement in Alaska is part of the GEOG: 3860 Field Research in the Environment summer course. Students will travel to Anchorage, Alaska and will learn about the United States natural resources, the impacts of climate change in Alaska, the states development history and the experiences of Indigenous peoples in Alaska. The trip will be hosted by partners at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and will include possible day trips to Portage Glacier, Whittier, Seward and more!
