The Facilities Management Department is responsible for planning, construction, renovating, repairing and maintaining the University's facilities and grounds as well as managing utilities and campus sustainability. The University has approximately 1,400 acres of land in Peterborough alone, with over 1.5M gross square feet of building space to maintain at our three locations: Peterborough's main Symons Campus, downtown Peterborough Traill College, and our Durham GTA campus.
Facilities Management is committed to providing quality customer-oriented services that support the needs of the University community. We strive to create a supportive, inspiring and sustainable physical environment conducive to learning, research, work and play. We aim to respect the architectural vision of iconic Architect Ron Thom who designed the original Symons Campus facilities and infrastructure which grow out of the natural landscape. We are dedicated to providing our services using environmentally sustainable practices and strive to continually improve energy efficiency and waste diversion on campus.
